Post-herpetic encephalitis presenting with epilepsia partialis continua

چکیده

Case presentation: Male, 9 years old, healthy, after a dental procedure, he started with clonic seizures on the left side and an episode of tonic-clonic seizure. In evolution patient developed Epilepsia Partialis Continua (EPC) at side. Liquor investigation was positive to herpes virus despite acyclovir treatment for 21 days persisted seizures. Resonance image demonstrated atrophic lesion frontobasal region. There no response anticrisis medication (phenobarbital, oxcarbazepine, levetiracetam, lacosamide cannabidiol). A partial observed corticosteroid therapy. Patient underwent frontal resection electrocorticography evolved complete remission. Anatomopathological consistent unspecified gliosis.
